Odour Control System

Odour Control System

Non-Condensable Gases (NCGs) generated during rendering, cooking, and drying processes typically contain high concentrations of ammonia, amines, hydrogen sulfide, aldehydes, and ketones. These gases are a major source of odor pollution, negatively affecting both the environment and workplace conditions.

The system operates on the wet Venturi scrubber principle. The gases pass through sequential alkaline and acidic scrubbing stages, where odor-causing compounds are chemically neutralized and removed. At the end of the process, the only by-products are sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) and water.

Technical Specifications

  1. Capacity: Up to 800 kg/h (custom-designed capacities available upon request)
  2. System Type: Wet Venturi scrubbing unit
  3. Fan: Corrosion-resistant industrial fan made of stainless steel
  4. Material: AISI 304/316 stainless steel construction
  5. Control Unit: Automatic dosing system that maintains stable pH and redox values
  6. Installation: Compact design suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation
  7. Maintenance: Easily accessible reactor section and low operating costs

Operating Principle

  1. Non-condensable gases are directed to the odor control unit by the system fan.
  2. In the first stage, an alkaline scrubbing process absorbs and neutralizes ammonia and amines.
  3. In the second stage, an acidic scrubbing process oxidizes hydrogen sulfide and organic compounds.
  4. Finally, particulate matter is captured, and the treated gas is safely discharged into the atmosphere.

Advantages

  1. High odor removal efficiency
  2. Low energy and chemical consumption
  3. Durable stainless steel construction with long service life
  4. Easy installation and minimal maintenance requirements
